About Me
I write LGBTQ+ fiction for various audiences. Some of my stories are Young Adult, some will be more appealing to older readers. Novels are my jam, but sometimes I create shorter works. My stories almost always have a romance, either as the main storyline, or as a subplot. In addition to contemporary settings, I also write Fantasy and occasionally, Science Fiction.
The tone of my stories varies from serious to humorous, and most of my work combines the these. Even in the toughest times, we need to laugh... perhaps especially in those times.
I gravitate to coming-of-age stories. It's a wonderful time of life to explore, and while it's a big adventure for anyone, coming-of-age for queer youth comes with its own set of complications that add depth to a tale.
As soon as I learned enough syntax to make sentences, I realized writing books was something I could do. My mother had read to me frequently and I loved books. At age six, it wasn't even a decision I consciously made. A compulsion drove me to write. I dabbled for most of my young life, went into an I.T. career where my writing skills were appreciated, working on technical documents in my first job starting at age seventeen. I left that industry and now write mostly fiction.
I lived in North Carolina for most of my life, but now reside in Florida. Sadly, once again, politicians have singled out the queer communities to oppress as they try to gain political power. LGBTQ+ content creators face bans, and even threats to our very lives. But I will not be stopped, because in times like these, we must not cower, must not give in, must not hide. We must win the struggle against oppression. And we will.
